Incredible Scottish skies this weekend

I make a show that, on the face of it, is about lenses so was excited when Leitz Cine unveiled a new range of lenses called Hektor. Although not primarily made for still photography, folks like Gajan Balan and Kevin Fickling have been able to use these lenses in both applications and the videos they’ve made are really interesting.

I wanted to know more, and Seth from Leitz Cine was good enough to come on to the show to talk about them. The conversation we had is in your regular podcast feed right now, we get into what inspired them as well as our shared love of TV series The Studio. If you’ve not seen the behind the scenes videos on YouTube they are also worth a look.

The Inverness Foto Walk

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to lead a photowalk as part of a global event organised by the folks at Foto. I met a brilliant group of photographers and even managed to make a few images while we walked and talked around town. The rain stayed away too! You can see some of my images on Flickr, and if you’d like to go on a future walk, stay in touch.

Ethan Hawke on creativity

Oh and one more thing, we often talk about creativity on the show. I discovered this TED video featuring Ethan Hawke this morning and found it really inspiring. I hope it puts a spring in your step too.
