It is said that we are what we repeatedly do. If that’s the case, then I am a twice weekly podcaster as I continue to find opportunities to share an extra episode with you all on a Wednesday alongside this email.
This week I was fortunate to get some time with AJ Woomer and Dan Rubin to talk about their collaboration on AJ’s first photo book “It Feels Like the Beginning Again”. The title relates in part to the feeling AJ got from making images in Copenhagen the first time he was there. I was able to look over a PDF of the book ahead of time and am excited for my physical copy to arrive, a birthday treat to myself with a little help from my step dad ;)
You can listen to Dan and AJ on the link below or in your favourite podcast app.

Another friend of the show has spent some time going back to the beginning. Ali has released a great new video about her love for the original Sony A7. It turns out we’ve been friends for years and never discussed the importance of the A7 in our own camera history. We should get on that. It also turns out that she is a fan of the 35 Zeiss 2.8 and 55 1.8. This combination was my favourite too, the 35 was basically glued to the front of my camera and is very similar to the one that now lives rent free in my mind and on my camera most of the time.
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about cameras I’ve loved and lost over the years, have been loaned some gear to make social media content with and even shot film last week, but I know, even with the launch of a new M camera, that I’m good where I am and that my focus needs to be on making work right now. That applies to image making and the podcast. I hope you enjoy these up coming episodes. I’m having a blast putting them together.
