Film photography is back, baybee! From Ilford to Phoenix, Kodak to Polaroid, I’m lucky enough to speak with loads of folks who shoot film every day. Here are some of my favourite episodes with photographers who specialise in using 35mm film for their work.
Episode 77 - Silvergrain Classics
Marwan and Charys are the folks behind Silvergrain Classics, a magazine dedicated to film photography. Not many people love analogue photography enough to make a camera, but these guys do!
Episode 67 - Amelia Le Brun
Amelia is an amazing British photographer with a cool dog and a kick ass van. She posts about her travels with her camera frequently and it was a pleasure to sit with her to talk film photography.
Dan Rubin is a globe trotting film photographer based in London. He moved to film from digital to get more consistency from his work without many hours spent in Lightroom.
Episode 63 - Dan Rubin
Episode 58 - Amy Elizabeth
Amyliz is not only an artist and photographer, but she also runs a lab where she specialises in processing people’s film soup! This unique approach to developing film creates a really different type of image that favours a very personal form of expression.
Ben is a photographer, director and YouTuber probably most widely known for his work on In an Instant. He’s an atomic bomb of enthusiasm and Polaroid information and was great fun to talk to. I challenge you to not buy a new Polaroid camera after listening to him :)
Episode 4 - Ben Fraternale
Episode 27 - Tiffany Roubert
Tiffany Roubert has shot film her whole career and travels around the world for clients big and small. Hear about how she started out in my conversation with her.
